We at Aitken Spence Travels have been in the mass tourism industry for many years and our experience has given us the realisation that the handling of special interest tours is difficult to do within the mass tourism framework. Therefore we have set up a special division called the Nature Voyagers Unit to cater for the unique needs of a clientele avidly seeking particular nature, adventure and special interest holidays with a highly personalised service. Our teams of interpreters comprise some of the most experienced travel guides in the country, all born with a passion for wildlife, adventure, culture and conservation.
We are the only Destination Management Company (DMC) in Sri Lanka to be ISO 9002 Certified and to possess International Insurance Coverage for the peace of mind of our clients. Our suppliers each possess insurance coverage for their individual activities. In addition we pride ourselves on working very closely with our suppliers and regularly check our projects for quality to upkeep the high standard of professional tours that our mother company, Aitken Spence Travels, has become known to provide.
Nature Voyagers Division is a member of 'The International Eco-Tourism Society', which involves a commitment to work within the limits of Responsible Tourism. A percentage of our tour profits is used for participation in and as a contribution towards vital social developmental projects and conservation on the island.
